Ink and Watercolor Sketches from The Plastic Club

I went a little crazy with squiggles here!

When I’m free on Tuesday mornings, you’ll find me at the Plastic Club, drawing from a clothed model.

Since 1897, the Plastic Club has been a place for artists to express themselves with  various media.

They provide easels, tables, and drawing boards—you bring the rest! Volunteer monitors run the three-hour sessions and for a minimal fee ( $10, general admission, $9 for members, $7 for students)), you get to work with the model. There’s also a still life workshop ($3) and printmaking ($10) .

I did this one this week!

In addition to the weekly workshops there are group shows that run all year—some open to the public, others only for members. And there are also special workshops and events.

I consider myself lucky because I’ve also worked as a model for the portrait workshop, the one held Tuesday mornings from 9:30–12:30, so that gets me in for free! I love to do a bunch of different drawings playing with watercolor pencils, ink, and watercolor pallets. From time to time I’ve worked with charcoal, pastels, and paint.

Anything is possible in the unlimited world of art!

Let me know how you like them!

This one I did really fast!
